JUMPIN JACKS

For Family Night we decided to go to Jumpin Jacks with Stephanie and her kids and Jennifer and her kids.
It was Max's first time there and he had a BLAST!!!
Alexa kept sneaking into the "kiddie" slides.
Here is Parker trying to catch his breath!!

Everyone had a great time...we got there and didn't realize that they were closing so early so we didn't have much time but it was fun for them still.

Just the kids went on the slides...oh wait, Jennifer couldn't resist and had to go down a few times. She was having so much fun too!!

Pieper, Creed and Max snuck into the basketball cage thing and shot hoops for a while. It was really funny, they were just in there having a great time. They are all really close in age and they have fun playing together!

My Mother's Day

Rich really out did himself this year. He had his sister Carrie make this awesome fruit bouquet for me. It is so cute and really yummy. Rich was trying to think of something that I liked and he knows I love fresh fruit but he didn't want to just get a fruit basket. He had seen these fruit bouquets before and asked his sister if she had ever made one before. She did an incredible job and I really appreciate them both...it was fabulous!!!
So if the beautiful fruit basket wasn't enough he also surprised me with a CRUISE!!! Actually it is our 5th anniversary coming up in June and that is really what the trip is for but he has such a hard time keeping surprises a secret he HAD to tell me!! We aren't going until August but I am SO excited!!!

After church, Alex said he had a present for me. He had taken a dress that I was looking at the night before and told my Mom that I really loved it and that he wanted to buy it for me so she helped him to surprise me with it. He was so excited, it was really cute. Alexa gave me a magnet board that she made at a YW activity a few weeks ago, it is really cute as well!!

Mother's Day BBQ

For lunch we had a BBQ at Steph and Jeff's house. I think Rich gets off the hook too easy and never has to make me dinner so one of these years I am going to request that he prepares dinner for me on Mother's Day. But it is nice to get together with all the family too!
We had hamburgers and hot dogs along with salads and chips and fruit etc. It was a beautiful day and the weather was great for an outside lunch.
The food was yummy and we just sat and visited and enjoyed the wonderful weather. We had the most delicious chocolate eclairs for dessert...they were wonderful!
Here is Norma holding Nash, she loves her grand kids (all 24 of them) so much and would do anything for them. She is such a wonderful example and is such a caring and giving person. I am so thankful to have her in my life. She did such a wonderful job raising her 8 kids and has so much advice and wisdom to share. I am glad that she lives so close and that Max gets to spend so much time with her while I am at work! Thanks Norma for everything, I love you.

We went and visited with Grandma Cope after dinner and spent some time with her too. She also is an amazing woman. She is so sweet and caring and has such a strong testimony of the church. I am so grateful to have her in my life as well.

My Mom

This afternoon me and the kids met up with my family to have lunch for Mother's Day. The idea was to take my Mom out but she ended up paying for everyone, thanks Mom!! We met at Chuckarama in Bountiful and as always we were there for several hours. All my sisters were able to make it and we were just missing a few of the men (Dad, Dave and Rich). We went shopping after to a few stores that were nearby. We had a great time together and also found some pretty cute stuff too!
Alex really wanted to get me something special for Mother's Day and so he and my Mom were doing some sneaking around. I am so glad that we were able to get together.

My Mom is the greatest, everyone says that of course but she really is. There is nothing that she wouldn't do for anyone. She is never worried about herself, she is completely selfless and she is always so busy serving others. I have learned so many great things from her and I am so thankful for her example.
She is also one of those Grandma's that every kid should have. She lets them get a way with everything and is so supportive and never misses important events (she usually comes to the not so important ones too)!! Her and Alex spend hours sometimes talking on the phone and I know how busy she is but she always talks and talks until he is ready to hang up. She really is the greatest!
I love you MOM!

Yard Make-Over

Rich has wanted to do something with our yard ever since we moved in (almost 4 years ago). We finally are getting around to it.
We had some curbing put in a few days ago and Rich spent most the day today hauling out the grass, mowing and putting in some bark to make it look nice.
Next step is picking out a few trees and some plants and flowers to put in and make it look extra nice. It helps that he is working at a nursery and has access to lots of different options.
I give Rich a hard time about how obsessed he is with how the yard looks. He always spends so much time mowing and weed eating etc. and it is very well maintained but he just wasn't happy with it and so I hope that this project will turn out great and he will finally be happy with our yard!!!

Max (part 2)

I forgot the funniest story about little Max in my last post. This happened last month when we were in Logan. My dad pumped up the air mattress for Harrison to sleep on and he didn't put away the pump. The next morning Max had the nozzle in his mouth and he was pumping air into his mouth. He looked so funny and Rich and I sat and watched him for a minute and then I asked him what he was doing, he said:
"I am getting bigger so I can go on WICKED!!" We both started laughing so hard because he was dead serious. Alex has been talking a lot about Lagoon and now Max is a little obsessed too. Alex is always telling him that he is too small to go on WICKED and so he thought he could speed things along by pumping himself up with air!!

Here is one more that just happened tonight. We were saying prayers and I told Max to fold his arms, he wouldn't. He used to be so good about it but lately he has been naughty. He was playing with Alexa's phone and I asked him again to fold his arms he said "wait a minute I have to text my name." We all started laughing and I asked what he was doing and he said "I am texting my name for a second." He is always saying funny stuff like that so I had to come in and type it up before I forgot!!!

WOLF

Alex has really enjoyed being a boy scout this year. He has worked with Rich alot to get all his things passed off so he can move up to his new den once he turns 9.
Our ward has this tradition where the dad holds the boy upside down while they give their mom the pin. I think it is really weird but I don't really know anything about scouts. They also do these weird cheers, but the boys think they are awesome!!!
I am so proud of Alex and am very thaknful that Rich is in scouts and knows what is going on so he can help him with it. I think it will be neat when Alex starts to work on his Eagle Scout project (and Rich can help him so he feels like he earned it too, since he never did it on his own)!!

HAWAIIAN Shaved Ice

You know that summer is getting close when you start to see the shaved ice shacks back on the corners. We all love the Hawaiian shaved ice so much and we can be found there alot during the summer.
I started out with the wild blueberry/island strawberry shaved ice and it was really tasty. I don't think I have an absolute "favorite" because they have so many yummy flavors.
Alexa I guess was side-tracked by her texting, come on Alexa, really?? They gave her the wrong flavor but she still enjoyed it.
Alex LOVES shaved ice the most and he asks me everyday if we can get one. Lucky for me they aren't too expensive and so we do end up going there alot!
Last year Max just shared with me (because he wasn't that great with a spoon) but this year he is big enough for his own so I got him the child size and it was gone before they had even finished making mine, he wanted to show off his blue tongue for the camera. He ended up helping me eat mine!!

These past few days the weather has been perfect (70 to 80 degrees). I am not sure I am ready for the HEAT but at least we found out that our A/C wasn't in fact broken but just needed to be re-wired (thanks to Rich's dad we are in back in business)!! Too bad we didn't have him look at it last year when it "broke" (I had someone come out and look at it and he told me the compressor was bad, which = lots of $$$) we suffered for like 5 or 6 weeks in the heat and it was totally unnecessary...oh well, live and learn, right!!!

Hershey Track Meet

This is Alex's first year for the track meet and he was pretty excited.
He here is looking all serious at the starting line.
He ran the 50 meter, along with most the other kids. That is the most popular race (I guess because it the shortest one). He ran well but he isn't one of the really competitive kids so he mostly just had fun.
Next comes the softball throw. He had great form, but had more height than distance.
He finished off with the 100 meter and looked great! He was a good sport and we had a great time together enjoying the hot sunshine all afternoon. We hung out with Stephanie and Parker most the afternoon and Parker did a great job too.

Lagoon!!!

Alexa had a Dance Competition at Lagoon today and we watched the weather closely all week long. She has had this competition several times in the past and it has always rained and we always just end up watching her dance and then leaving and not going on the rides.
Well history repeated itself yet again and the weather was not in our favor. The Harris's and Melissa and Monica came to watch Alexa dance and we all just decided to brave the rain and go on the rides. It was a good choice, because the weather was so crappy we get to go again free!!!
This was Max and Owen's first time at Lagoon and they had SO MUCH FUN!!!

Here are the "big kids" going on the Samurai and the Cliffhanger. Melissa hasn't been to Lagoon in quite a few years and she really enjoyed herself!! Alex was in heaven of course.
It is a different experince when you have little kids with you. You can't just run from ride to ride like maniacs you have to be patient and also go on the little rides with the tiny ones.

The baby Tidal Wave boat is such a great ride. We all had fun on that one especially Amy since she is pregnant and wasn't able to go on much else.

Owen really wanted Alex to go on the Swings with him and Alex was pretty grumpy about it becasue he was anxious to get on to bigger and better rides. He ended up going and they all had a great time, especially Jason!!
The boys had a great time on the little kid rides and they were both pretty well behaved for the most part.
Alexa danced at 2:00pm and she did a fantastic job. The pictures didn't turn out that great so here is the best one I got. She is so talented and I love watching her perform!
We got some lunch and then it was time for more rides.

Thank goodness we had umberella's...it started to rain really hard and it was quite a downpour. Luckily it only lasted a few minutes and then it was sunny again.
Unfortunaltly the rain left lots and lots of puddles that the little boys just couldn't resist. Amy sat with them while we all went on some of the bigger rides and she tried to keep them from the puddles of water but it was just too hard and they ended up completely soaked!!! I guess they were kneeling in the puddles and splashing...oh well they had a great time!!

Max didn't want to go on Puff at first but he changed his mind and LOVED it. Owen did not love it and I think he cried when Amy took him on it but then he went again with Jason right after. He was scared and didn't want to go again.
Max loved going on the train and seeing the animals. He was making the "woo woo" sound in this picture and it was really cute. Owen was pretty scared of all the smoke from the train but he loved it too!!

We weren't going to let the boys go on the little tug boats because they were filled with water at the bottom...
but after the splashing in the puddles incident it didn't really matter at that point and so they got to drive the boats and they both had fun!!
It was a long, great day and lucky for us adults the park closed earlier than expected because of the weather so we went to Target to buy the boys dry clothes for the ride home!!

What a Great Day!!!!

Max

Here is a picture of Max dressed in clothes, real clothes. You might be thinking "has Angela gone crazy, don't we all wear clothes everyday?" Well for the past week or two Max has insisted upon wearing his PJ's. Not the ones he slept in, but when I get him dressed in the morning that is all he will agree to wear. I don't want to fight him because I know I can't win so I send him to school in his Batman, Spiderman or Hulk underoo's.
Now maybe this post makes a little more sense.
Doesn't he look so handsome?? I made a big deal about this new outfit I bought him and he fell for it and put it on. I love this outfit so much and was even able to put a stripped shirt with plaid shorts (that's a big deal for me, isn't it Amy)?

Here are some things Max has been up to:

Max went poop in the toilet 2 times yesterday, I am going to buy pull-ups today and get that boy potty trained!!! WOO HOO!!

Last night I tucked him in and he told me he ate all my candy. I was trying to figure out what he was talking about because there was no candy in the room. He pointed to the 4 cough drop wrappers. I told him that those were daddy's cough drops and he said "but mom, they were delicious."

Last weekend we were at Payless buying Alex cleats for baseball and Max saw these Lightening McQueen shoes, you know the bright red rubber clogs that are in the shape of a car. He HAD to have them and so to avoid a huge public display (and since they were only $2.50) I bought them, DON'T JUDGE ME!!! I figured he would wear them and then just forget about them...not the case, he wouldn't take them off for bed for 4 nights in a row. He fell asleep in them and then I would take them off his stinky, dirty feet and hide them but as soon as he got up the next morning he would ask me for them.

Max has woke up in the middle of the night all week (except for last night). He comes to our room and says "Mom, I want to snuggle with you." Rich won't let him sleep in our bed anymore so I take him back to his bed and climb in with him to snuggle until he falls asleep. After three nights of this I was tired and told Rich it was his turn. Max wouldn't have it, he kept saying he needed to snuggle mommy and Rich kept telling him I was asleep. After he started crying I gave in but this time we just turned on his fish night light and he went back to sleep on his own.

Sweet Baby Korver

I finally got to meet my newest nephew, Korver David Clark. He was born on April 9th, which is his big brother Jake's birthday. I think it is so awesome that the 2 boys in the family have the same birthday...just 10 years apart. Jake has been waiting and waiting for a little brother for a long time and I know they will be best friends.

He is such a cute little guy, we didn't get to spend much time with him because Melanie has been feeling really crappy for the last couple days and has been home. She is at the ER right now and that is why we have cute little Korver.
I love it when we are able to add BOYS to the family. There are 9 grand kids, with one on the way in July, the count is 5 boys to 4 girls so maybe Amy's baby will be a girl and tie things up (that would be wierd if we had more boys than girls in this family)!!!
