Paint, Paint and more Paint

We painted this weekend and here is a sample of what our color choices were. Alexa's is the first photo with the pink then Alex picked out 'kiwi' and the family room is 'jade jewel'. The good thing is it will be impossible to be depressed in our basement because all the colors are so BRIGHT.

The "Crew"

This is my Dad, he woke up early and got started on all the ceilings.
My brother in law Dave is such a great painter....he can cut all the edges without tape and does such a good job. We couldn't have done it without him!!!
My sister Monica is also a hard worker, she got Alex's room started and helped out all day.
Rich did some edging and the closets and storage rooms. We tried to get all the trim and doors done before the crew came on Saturday.
I also did the closets and trim, I painted Alexa's bead board and it was not a fun job. My shoulder was really sore the next day and so were my thighs, all the up and downs I guess.

Lunch Break

We took a lunch break and headed to Barry's. It was delicious as usual. My Mom and Dad and sisters Melanie and her family Dave, Kenzie, Jake, Brooklyn and Brinlie and my sisters Monica and Amberly all came to our house Friday night. We had quite a sleepover. I am so glad that I have such a supportive family. Thanks for everything guys!!

Mom Tag

1. Typically what time do you wake up? Usually around 8:30am but yesterday Max didn't wake up and I didn't set an alarm and I woke up at 9:45am. LAZY ME

2. On a good night what time are your kids in bed? Our kids have 9pm bedtime but Alexa gets to read in bed til 10pm.

3. How long have you been a mommy? 12 years

4. How old were you when you became a mommy? Just barely 19

5. What is your favorite kids TV show/movie? They all still love Spongebob. Enchanted is a big hit at our house too. Alexa and Alex like Hannah Montana and Zach and Cody.

6. What is your least favorite kids TV show? Personally I am not a huge fan of the Disney shows but the worst is the Wiggles and Max likes to watch that in the morning (when he doesn't sleep til 10am).

7. What is your favorite chore? I don't mind washing dishes, I wash them by hand (yes I have a dishwasher) I just like the way they feel better and then you never have to unload the stupid dishwasher.

8. What is your favorite meal to cook? I don't love cooking but I make a pretty good Lasagna. i mostly like to make desserts.

9. What is the meal you make most often? Pastas (for Rich)

10. What is your kids favorite meal? Alexa loves tacos and rice, Alex loves frozen waffles and oatmeal, Max loves pop-tarts (I wish he liked to eat, I am a little worried about him).

11. What is your favorite thing your husband does with your kids? Saturday chores and playing basketball or football with Max

12. What are 5 things that make you smile when you're being a mom?
a)When I ask Max for a kiss and he says no and then runs away smiling cause
he knows I am going to chase him down and get one anyway.
b)When Alexa and Alex get along so well (its always at night when we are
reading scriptures and saying prayer, I guess they try to prolong going to
bed).
c)Going into the kids rooms after they are sleeping to make sure they are
covered up and watching them sleep for a minute.
d)Hearing Alex sing while he's playing on the computer, he has a good voice.
e)When Alexa tells me that none of the boys "like" her (it just makes me
smile because I know that is not the case and I remember feeling the same
way and it sucks to be 12).

13. If you could take your kids anywhere where would it be? Disneyland for sure because that's where they want to go.

14. When was the last time you went out without your kids? I went to Bunco the other night but me and Rich haven't been on a date in awhile.

15. What is your favorite past time/activity to do with your kids? Going on a walk or playing at the park or the pool.

16. Name 1 thing you said you'd never do as a mom: Not trust my kids (and I hope that I will never do it!!)

17. What is your favorite quality that your mom has? Selflessness, she is always putting eveyones needs in front of her own. Also making every Holiday really fun.

18. What is your advice for new moms? Try not to worry so much. Its easy for me cause I just am not a worrier. Just live in the moment and enjoy what is happening right now and don't think about all the things that "could" happen.

19. What is the scariest or most heartbreaking moment as a mom? When we were in Vegas a few years ago with my family and we were at Circus Circus and i thought Alexa was with one of my sisters and we were outside walking to the next place and realized that she wasn't with us. She was smart and found a Security guard but I was really scared that i would never see her again. She still hates going to Vegas. Also when Alex had to get stitches on his eyebrow when he was 2 and when he almost drowned twice.

20. What is your most joyful moment of being a mom? Seeing how smart my kids are and seeing them make good choices.

21. When was the last time you were told 'I Love You' by of your kids? I am trying to teach Max how to say it but he doesn't quite have it yet. Alex says it at bedtime when I tuck him in (after I say it first). Alexa.......I don't remember.

22. I tag: Anyone who wants to answer these questions.

SUNDAY cont.

We had a yummy dinner and the kids had an egg hunt and found their baskets. We had such a great time this weekend with my family.

Easter Sunday

After church we tried to take some pictures but it was not that easy. Max saw the basketball so we knew he wasn't going to be in any of them. We did get him in the foreground having a fit! It was such a pretty day, why is sitting still for 2 minutes for a stinkin' picture so dang hard????

SATURDAY still

We had a pretty full day of events on Saturday (as you can see) we all dyed eggs and frosted cookies and cupcakes at my Mom's house. She made us delicious egg salad sandwiches for dinner with all the cracked eggs. We had a really fun day.

SATURDAY again

I just learned how to do this collage and I am excited about it, thanks Sarah. Here are some pictures of us at IFA with baby bunnies and chicks and ducks. Since Maceys was so lame we decided to see if IFA had anything better and they didn't disappoint. Max loved the bunnies til Rich put it on him and he got scratched. He loved the baby chicks and he kept wanting to give them a kiss. We had a fun time.

SATURDAY cont.

We went to Macey's for the Egg Hunt and to see the baby animals. It was pretty much a waste of time, they had tootsie rolls and suckers in evey basket and there was only a goat and some lambs. Pretty disappointing, but we did get some food samples and that made Rich happy.

SATURDAY March 22, 2008

Me, Rich, my sister Monica and my nephew Jake all decided to run a 5k this morning. It was 22 degrees when the race started...yeah we are crazy. My Dad and sister Amberly came to support us and snap some photos. I haven't been running since last fall so I was way out of shape. Rich came in 3rd place overall (around 20 minutes) Monica was the fastest girl to finish (around 26 minutes) and me and Jake ran together and finished in 33 minutes. Overall it wasn't that bad but the start about killed me cause they had us run uphill.

FRIDAY March 21st 2008

We started out our weekend in Logan at my sister Melanie's house. We went there for dinner and to watch "Enchanted" we had pizza and talked and had a great time. She just moved to a new house a few months ago, it is a great party house and she is a fabulous hostess. I didn't get many shots but the kids made some Easter projects before dinner, they had fun. My whole family was there and it was a great way to start out our great weekend.

Alexa's Field Trip

I went on Alexa's fieldtrip to the Clarke Planetarium today. We rode the bus to Salt Lake and walked around to check out the exhibits. We watched 2 shows (I fell asleep) it was not the best fieldtrip but we had fun. We ate our lunch on the bus ride home and the kids decided to open the windows...it was freezing and that is why it looks like we are going to blow away in the picture.

Alexa had a great experience

Alexa had a chance to do Baptisms for the Dead for her first time today. She was really excited about it. She is growing up so fast, we had to get her signed up for Jr. High last week and she will be going to Girls Camp this summer. I can't believe it....I know everyone says that, but until its you it just doesn't mean much.

When she came home she said it was an awesome experience, she said "the devil can't get into the temple and it was so peaceful that I couldn't even talk". It is amazing how hard it is sometimes to tell how hard Satan is working on us until we are in a place that he can't get to us and its amazing the difference that makes. I am so grateful for such a good, smart, responsible daughter.

Happy St. Patty's Day

We had a great St. Patrick's Day. It's not really much of a Holiday and I don't even know why we celebrate it (I guess alot of people don't). My Mom always did. I did this because that is what she did for us when we were kids. She would also give us a bar of Irish Spring soap and a green cup of treats and the gold foil coins. My kids love it so I thought I better keep tradition alive. This is actually the first year I've gotten this carried away, usually its just green food.

I got balloons and a few 'green' treats and I gave the kids a few gold dollars for luck!!! Oh yeah and also green and white pinwheels (I thought Max would like those, all he wanted was the candy and you won't see anymore pictures of him because he got really grumpy when I didn't let him have Starbursts for dinner.

We had Lime Kool-aid, Green Mac and Cheese, Asparagus and Green Orange rolls. It was pretty yummy.

Another GREAT weekend

On Friday my sister Amy her husband Jason and their baby Owen came to Spanish Fork to spend the weekend with us. We went to Bajio for dinner and then watched "Dan in Real Life" I love that movie. I wish I would have taken a picture of Max, he kept saying 'hot' and tugging at his sleeper so I took it off (even though everyone else was wrapped up in blankets) and he had the bowl of popcorn between his naked little legs just enjoying the show.....it was really cute.

We had to give the two stinky boys a bath, they had so much fun they didn't want to get out!!

Then it was time for kisses!!!! Owen loves to give big wet kisses, he grabs your neck and goes for it!

Melissa came to play with us on Saturday morning. We shopped all day and then had Barry's for dinner. My family loves Barry's and we usually always go whenever they are in town.

How old are we??? Never too old to be silly, I guess!
