Max is a Genius!!!

I came home for lunch and was driving down our street watching a few kids riding their bikes, I did a double take when I realized that it was Max on a two wheeler with NO TRAINING WHEELS!!!! I asked Max who taught him how to ride the bike and he said: "I just got on and started riding it."
He told me a few days after his birthday that he could ride his bike without training wheels now because he was a "four year old." I was going to have Rich take them off his bike and teach him to ride but I guess he doesn't need the lessons!!

He amazes me, he is naturally talented in many ways and I guess coordination is one of those gifts. I remember learning to ride a bike and my dad holding the back and having to balance me while running up the street, over and over and over. I was so excited for Max that I wanted to go to Wal Mart and buy him a new bike (but I resisted). When Rich got home he took the training wheels off Max's bike. After Max went up the street and back he was disappointed because apparently his bike isn't as fast as the neighbor kids.

I am just praying that he won't get into too many accidents, I was kind of a bike riding klutz and had many many accidents and countless amounts of road rash, even stitches!! I hope I had enough for the both of us!!!

Swim Meet

The kids and I got up super early to get Alex to his FIRST swim meet in Lehi. He had to be there at 7am. We didn't know quite what to expect and Alex was a little nervous. He signed up for three races but somehow they only had him down for 1, the 50 freestyle. I was kind of upset that we drove all that way for him to just do 1 race but after sitting there for almost 2 hours before that 1 race I was pretty glad we could leave and not have to wait hours for the other races.
Alex is in the lane by the wall and he did a great job. His first lap he was ahead and doing really well and then he got kind of tired and slowed down a bit. He is a natural in the water and with some coaching I think he will make a great swimmer!!
Max fell asleep on my lap for most the time and he was grumpy when I woke him up. We ate breakfast at McDonald's after the race and then headed home.

BEAR

At pack night tonight, Alex recieved his "Bear." He and Rich worked really hard to get all the requirements done in time. They do alot of the stuff at scout meetings but there is still quite a bit of work that needs to be done at home.
Alex turned 10 and he had until the next pack night to get everything done so he could get the award and he did it!! I am so grateful for Rich and all his help with the scout stuff, I am pretty clueless about it all!
Alex had just got done with his baseball game adn was pretty embarassed he had to wear his uniform but I told him it didn't matter!! I am so proud of Alex for his accomplishments!!
