The Utah Jazz

I didn't get to watch the game last night (I guess it was a good thing since we lost terribly) but I love the Jazz and it's great that we can win the 1st round on our home court on Friday night......GO JAZZ.
p.s. did anyone see the interview last night on channel 2 news with Kyle Korver's parents??? YIKES, his mom was not the best looking lady (rude) and it's good to see that Iowa is way more behind the times than we are! Ha Ha

JAZZ PARTY

My cousin Ryan and his wife Trisha built a new house in Herrimann and after the Tulip Festival we headed up there for a Jazz Party!!! It was so much fun. We had a lot of family there and we ate so much yummy food, it was definitely my kind of party. I also got to see some of my long lost friends Marcus and Brittany and I was really happy to see them again. The game was intense and I am so glad it went our way cause we had some rowdy fans!!! I love spending time with family and friends, it's the best!

Tulip Festival

My sisters and Jason and Owen came home with us after the Baseball game to see the basement and have a sleepover. We had a good time. On Saturday we headed to Lehi to the Tulip Festival. Rich and I went last year and it was amazing. I have been looking forward to it all year and telling my family that they should come. I was a little disappointed this year. Since its been so cold they were only at 50% bloom and none of the trees have really budded yet so it was not as spectacular as I was hoping for but it was still really pretty and we had a good time. It was sunny but windy so that is always annoying. It just amazes me how you can drive 5 minutes off I-15 and be taken to this beautiful place that's hidden away from everything. The waterfalls are wonderful and I think that alone is worth the price of admission!!! We took a ton of pictures so I am going to do a slide show. Here is the only group picture we got!!

Take Me Out to the BEES Game

On Friday night me and the boys met up with some of my family in Salt Lake for the Bees Baseball game. I am not a huge baseball fan but I really enjoy being at the park and watching in person. It was a great night for baseball, a little on the chilly side but as I always say: I would rather be a little chilly than roasting hot! We did talk Monica into leaving in the 8th inning (she hates to leave early) but the Bees were up like 8-0 and the 7th inning was action packed so it was a good time leave. Sorry Monica, next time we will stick it out with you.
Me, Monica and Alex had the best time...just kidding Max had alot of fun and he was really good. He walked up and down the stairs with his hands in his pockets for about 2 innings.
Max was a little scared of the 'Bee' but he just scooped Alex right up and Max thought that was pretty funny.
I am not sure if this was Owen's first baseball game but it was for sure the first one he had fun at. He was really into it for a while and was cheering and screaming.
Max has been loving to wear hats lately and he looks so cute in them with his curly hair coming out the sides. We had a really fun night and missed Alexa and Rich who apparently had better things to do!!

WrestleMania

My sweet Maxwell is kind of a bully. Anytime Alex is on the floor he runs over and attacks him. Jake loves to wrestle him too and he is so strong. He just wraps his arms tight around their neck and then will wrap his legs around their body. He doesn't even care when they roll on top of him. I am glad he's not a wuss but I hope he won't try this with the nursery kids.

Princess Party

My niece Brinlie or as we call her 'Pot Pie' turned 3 today. She loves all the Disney Princesses so of course that's what kind of party she wanted. It was really fun and of course Melanie had an excellent party planned. We had Fruit with really yummy dip and cheese curds for our appetizer and pulled pork sandwiches and all different kinds of salads. It was yummy!
Here is my baby sister Melissa and her husband Steve
Here is a random shot but you should check out Alexa's hair she got highlights on Friday and I didn't get a good picture of her. I am sure you will be seeing more of her soon enough.
Max was a good sport and wore his princess crown for most of the party. He was happy to have some balls to play with and held on to them for dear life.
Here is another random shot, I really enjoy the pictures where you don't have any one's attention and you capture them in the moment (hey Mel are you asleep cause I think Kenzie is too)!!

Second Chance 5K

www.yesutah.org

This has become a tradition for most of my family. It is the 4th year we have participated in this 5K run. It is a great cause and a great way to raise awareness about organ donation. We all had a really great morning run. Rich came in 3rd overall (even though they didn't exactly follow the right course). My cousin Michelle was the first girl to finish, way to go Michelle. My sister Melanie did great and beat Alexa, Kenzie and Jake. Amberly and Mandi had some trouble but we won't go into that.
The weather was really great. My Dad drove around and took the photos for us. Afterwards we celebrated by going to the Bakery and getting donuts for breakfast....hey, we earned it!!!

Rich's new Haircut

Rich was ready to shed his 'winter coat' so I shaved his head today. His Mom really hates it when he has his hair this short....just for the record it was totally his idea!!! I think he looks super sexy with a buzz, I love you babe!!

Joseph and McKell's Wedding

The weather was beautiful but the Bride and Groom out did the Sunshine today. What a wonderful day for Joseph and Mckell.
The Wedding Dinner was so good and very well planned and carried out, Carrie did such a great job with everything, the room looked beautiful and the food was yummy. Joseph and McKell had Alexa come up and they Thanked her for giving them such a wonderful gift and for being so persistent with them (she knew it was a perfect match). It was so sweet to listen to their parents talk about them and to hear how much they are loved.
Now they are off to enjoy their lives together and I know that they will make each other truly happy. We all love you both!!

Drumroll Please...

It is official, we have a BASEMENT!!! Woo Hoo
Here is a picture I took a few days ago....
and now it looks beautiful and soft and luxurious!!
WOW, I just can't get over the transformation. The process went pretty fast (we started in Nov) but we had our share of frustrations too. It was all worth it!!
Alexa is already putting our new space to good use. I am so glad that we will all be a little more comfortable with all the room we have.
OK, we are having a SLUMBER PARTY downstairs tomorrow night....yeah yeah I know we don't have any furniture yet but I think we better get used to that for a while. Think of all the fun things we can do with all the wide open space!! Everyone is invited so you better RSVP as soon as possible!!!

BBQ with the Cope's

After conference we headed to Nephi to Rich's sisters house for a BBQ. His whole family was there and the weather was pretty good. She has a great home for entertaining (but it is quite a drive). We had a fun time and the food was delicious. I tried to get pictures of everyone but with such a big family that is quite a chore.

Texas Roadhouse

On Saturday me and the kids headed up to Salt Lake to meet some of my family for lunch and shopping. Rich was working on the basement and had the Priesthood Session so he didn't join us. We went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch and it was a first for most of us. I LOVED it. The atmoshere was really fun and it wasn't really as expensive as I was expecting.
We had the waiter take our picture. It was me and the kids, my Mom, sister Melanie and 2 of her girls Kenzie and Brinlie, sisters Amy and Melissa, my Aunt Annette and her kids Mandi and Brandon and his friend Whitney.
Amy and Mandi being cute for the camera
Here is Melissa, Brandon and Whitney
And here is a picture of my yummy lunch. The steak was delicious and the baked sweet potato was so fabulous but it was huge and I couldn't eat all of it. The rolls they give you before the meal are the best!!! We will be back for sure. After we went to Ikea and Target. We had a really fun day.

Alex's 2nd Grade Fieldtrip

Well I got to go on another fieldtrip. The 2nd grade went to the farm in Springville, we watched them shear a sheep and learned about alot of different things. There were some animals there too which the kids loved. It was pretty chilly but it didn't rain so that was a plus. We ate lunch at the park after. It was a pretty fun day.
