Temple Square

We went to Salt Lake for the annual Christmas Carol Sing-A-Long. We met the Duvall's there. We went a few years ago and there wasn't too many people but this year was a whole different story!!! They were giving out free Jazz tickets, not to mention FREE HOT DOGS!!! Needless to say, there was A TON of people there. Alexa and I waited in line for the free hot dogs and drinks for about 45 minutes. We missed most of the sing-a-long. It was a fun night and we decided to go see the lights at Temple Square after.
It seems like we always pick the coldest night of the year to do this!!!

I got some pretty good pictures of the temple and we listened to the story by the manger scene.
The kids were being silly and having a great time!!

We didn't stay too long but Max had on really thin shoes and Rich was holding him the whole time so his feet were FROZEN!!! He was crying as we were walking back to the car and I could tell that he was in a lot of pain. It is the worst when your feet freeze and then they get all tingly and it feels like they are being stabbed with needles. I knew that it was going to get worse before it got better too because once they start warming up they hurt worse.
We got in the car and I wrapped him all up in his seat but he was crying and crying and wouldn't calm down. I reached back to feel his toes and legs and they were like icicles. I traded spots with Alexa and took off his shoes and started rubbing his feet and legs, I put my coat over both of us so our body heat would warm him up. It hurt at first and then eventually he started feeling better and fell asleep with his head on my shoulder.
When I took him inside to put him in bed his legs were still really cold and I felt really bad that we made him freeze!!!

Your temple photos are amazing! I'd buy a print of those. I'm bummed we didn't make it up there this year...it was to hard to make it with Alyvia. Sounds like a good time other than poor Max's toes! Good thing kids are resilient right? ;)
