Easter FUN!!!

This is the first year that we have dyed eggs at our house, we are usually at my parents house. I boiled about 2 dozen eggs and we all participated in the coloring. Alexa was pretty busy texting but she was able to pull herself away long enough to make a few.
Max really had a great time putting stickers on the eggs and dropping them in the colors...he wasn't very gentle and cracked almost all the ones he touched. Alex was taking his sweet time making sure that all his eggs were perfect! He was the one who enjoyed this the most.

I told Rich to make me an egg, it is the orange one and I guess that is me!!! It was funny that he drew a picture of me, it is pretty light so it makes it hard to see but I was impressed with his creativity (plus that is the one and only egg that he decorated, I feel so special, even though I had to ask him to do it)!!

The purple polka dot egg was the favorite (it was mine) Alex was pretty jealous of my beautiful egg and he was really trying to out do me.
You can't really tell very well but Max's fingers were all pink from dipping them into the dye. He really did have a fun time.
After the egg mess was cleaned up me and Alex frosted cookies. I just made the "cake cookies" because they are fast and easy and yummy and if you can't have Monica's sugar cookies there is no need to try to substitute them with "wanna be's." I have never really made sugar cookies myself and didn't want to be disappointed if they didn't turn out good!!!

We decided to check out the Orem Owlz egg hunt. It was raining a little bit and we thought they might move it inside but they didn't. It was pretty cold but there weren't a ton of people there.

They had a few games and then they had the kids divided into age categories and let them loose on the field to collect the eggs. It was a pretty good time and I made Alexa do it which is why she looks SO happy in the picture.
We went to dinner after and then caught "Coraline" at the dollar movie. It was one weird show. It was a great family fun day!!

Egg Hunt & Weenie Roast

We all got together at the Duvall's for an egg hunt and dinner. The kids had a great time finding treats around the yard and filling up their buckets. We let the little kids go first so that they would actually have a chance to get some treats.

I hope Jennifer won't be mad at me for posting this picture, but I love it!! It was pretty chilly outside but perfect for sitting by the fire roasting hot dogs and marshmallows!! Steph wanted to have sandwiches but I changed her mind...I love a good hot dog, especially cooked over an open fire!
We were kind of short on sticks and Kynli got impatient and decided to just eat hers cold!! It was really cute, she asked one of the adults if she could and they were like "go for it" so she did!!
We all stayed and hung out pretty late just talking, the Duvalls really know how to throw a great party!!!

WICKED

The day has finally arrived!!!! Rich got me some "coveted" tickets to WICKED for Christmas. I have been patiently waiting for the day to come and I am SO EXCITED!!! I took the day off work since we got the 2:00pm showing. We stopped at Target first to get a few last minute Easter details.
I knew that this was an event that wouldn't have very many photo ops so I had to take a picture of the sign out in front of the Capital Theater, where the play was.
There were signs that said "NO photography" but that just meant during the show, right?? I snapped a shot of Rich and I...
then got a quick one of the stage before the usher came over and told me "NO pictures" so, they are not very good photos but good enough (at least he didn't make me erase them). Our seats weren't the best, we were three rows from the top but I am not complaining at all!!!

The play was FANTASTIC!!! I have been listening to the music so all of that was familiar, but I really didn't know the story. It was so good and the actresses were amazing!! I was completely surprised by the ending and I really want to see it again! After we went to Outback Steakhouse for dinner and it was really good too! Thanks again Rich for such a great Christmas present, you are the best!

Hard Working

Since Rich is still unemployed, he is going to work for Jeff mowing and stuff until he finds something. We are both SO grateful that Steph and Jeff are two of the most generous people we know. I am serious, if you know them you know I am not kidding and if you don't believe me when I say that either one of them would give you the shirt off their back if they thought you needed it! I had to get some cleaning supplies for work and had to run to Walmart so I thought I would drive past where Rich was working and say Hi.
I decided while I was there I might as well take a few pictures!! It was such a nice day and he had on like 3 layers, I asked him why he was still wearing long sleeves, he said he was "just right."

Sunny Sunday

We watched conference and when it was over we decided to walk over to the park to enjoy some sunshine. It was not that warm but it was great that the sun was out and the sky was blue. The kids had a great time!!

We needed jackets but it was really bright. Jason got in on the action racing matchbox cars down the slides with the boys and challenging Alex to a game of tic-tac-toe.

After, we went back to the house and the boys watched Wall-e and Jas and Alexa raced remote control cars around the living room. I kept asking Amy and Jas what they wanted for dinner but they wouldn't say so we ate 7 layer dip and chips all day and that was about it. Sorry guys, next time I will make you something better!!

Provo Half Marathon

We got up around 6:45am and it was snowing pretty good in Spanish Fork, we were all hoping that as we made our way to Provo that it would let up. It did at first but it was 30 degrees...chilly!!
Yes, Melissa and I are CRAZY wearing shorts but she insisted that we wear these awesome long socks (actually hers are awesome mine are just ugly). Me and Rich headed for the starting line and Melissa, Steve and the kids made their way to the first "photo stop."

Look at that stride!! WOW he runs FAST!!
He was trying to talk to me after he crossed the finish line but his lips were frozen and he couldn't talk very well...it was snowing pretty hard by then.
He finished in 1 hour 26 minutes and 15th overall out of 544 racers. He was 3rd in his age category so he got a medal. He was doing so great the first half of the race and his time was 38 minutes which put him on track to finish in 1 hour 16 minutes which was what he was shooting for (under 1 hour 20 minutes), however the second half of the course was more challenging and it was really windy and cold out by the lake and it slowed him WAY down! He did awesome regardless I think!
Max thought the medal was so cool and he wouldn't put it down so that I could get a good picture!!

Next up, Me and Melissa decided to do the relay so we would only have to run 6.5 miles each. We were trying to decide who would run first and we both wanted to run last so we drew numbers and I lost (thanks Rich, he picked it) so I went first.

Here I am at the starting line...they placed you in groups according to your pace so I just went right to the back. It was really cold and I was ready to get runing/jogging.
My stride is not near as impressive as Rich's is it? It doesn't even really look like I was running at all.
Here is the big exchange, I had a slap braclet on and when we got to the exchange point I took it off and slapped it on Meliss'a wrist and she was off!!!
Steve said that I finished in 1 hour 5 minutes (which I was hoping for under 1 hour 20) so I was really excited! They didn't keep track of my time just the overall time so I am just going off what Steve said but I was really happy with that time!

Melissa got stuck with the harder part of the course but she had a great time (right sis)??

She crossed the finish line at 2 hours and 22 minutes. She told me before the race that this was going to be her last because she hates running, I asked her after and she thought she might reconsider, she had a blast!!

We dragged all the kids along with us, we usually leave them home. They were really good sports.

They did the awards at the Marriot since it was so cold outside and the Utah Valley Thunder players and mascot were there handing out free stuff. The mascot was kind of hanging around us for a while so I decided to take a picture of Max with him. He took my camera and started taking pictres and stuff then he stole Max's blanket and was wearing it like a cape. He thought it was pretty funny. None of us ended up winning any of the raffle prizes but it was a great time for sure!

Lunch

For lunch we decided to try something new. We went to Five Guys and it was SO BUSY. The line was really long and when we finally did order there was no where to sit.
I LOVED these pictures and had to post them. The food was really good but it wasn't "to die for good."

Here is my review: too expensive, no combo meals or kids meals, not enough seating, NEVER order a large fry unless you are feeding your whole family (I ordered 2), not sure if I ever need to go back! But go and try it for your self.

After we went to Target and shopped for a while and then said good bye to Melissa and Steve. The Harris's came to our house for a sleepover and we just hung out and watched "Marley and Me" and made 7 layer dip for tomorrow...oh yeah and also made 2 trips to Macey's.
