Founders Day Race

This was definatly a weekend FULL OF PICTURES!!
We moved the party to the Clark's house since the race is in Wellsville. It was pretty late when we got there and so we all pretty much just got situated and hit the sack!
Amy and Jason and Nixon slept on the floor in the living room.
Max and Owen both fell asleep on the way out so we put them in the Piano room.
Amb was on Jake's bed and I am not really sure where Monica and Jake ended up.

Alexa, Kenzie, Alex and Brooklyn went out to the tampoline. They were being CRAZY and wouldn't go to sleep!

Mom and Dad had an air matress in the basement. I am not really sure what is going on here, I think my mom was trying to claw my dad's eyes out because he tried to give her a good night kiss!!! PRICELESS!

Rich and I took the trailer out back by the loud mouths on the trampoline. This is what happens when Rich is really tired...not really, I have no explanation for this behavior actually.
I have no idea what time it was when we actually went to sleep but a few hours later I was jolted out of sleep by the firing of a cannon. I remember this from a few years ago when we slept out here before this race. Some really annoying people get on a four wheeler and drive throughout town blasting this cannon every few minutes! It got really close to us and it made me jump it was SO LOUD!!! Not the ideal way to be woken up at 6 o'clock in the morning...it may have been earlier than that!!!

THE RACE...
Here are the 5k ers. Amy, Jason, Mel, Amb, Alexa, Kenzie, Alex and Brooklyn all ran the 5k.
Me, Rich, Monica and Jake went for the 10k.
I am not sure what everyone's times were, Amy finished her 5k right before Rich finished the 10k. He is SO FAST!!
He was the first one to finish the 10k in 37 minutes. 6 minute miles...he amazes me every race!!!
Amy and Jason happy to be done running!!
Kenzie, Alex and Alexa just before they crossed the finish line. Brooklyn is right behind them with her yellow jacket tied around her waist.
It was her first race ever and 3 miles is long for a 6 year old, we were all really proud of her!
They all stuck together and were glad when it was over!
Here is Mel dragging Amb over the finish line. She always gets stuck with Amb unless Mandi runs the race with us. Mel is a good sport, they finished just before Monica and Jake.
Here is Monica almost done! Not sure what happened to Jake...he must have wasted her at the finish line. They ran together the whole way. I was right behind them most the race but then the last 2 miles or so I lost them and never caught back up!
I finished in 1 hour 8 minutes. I was hoping to get in under 1:05 but oh well. I felt really good and thought I was going at a pretty good pace but I guess that means I will just have to keep practicing!
Dad took care of Max and all the photography while we were running!! He is such a great cheerleader!
One last pose from the girls!
Here is Rich with his blue ribbon and $25 gift card to Al's Sporting Goods.

Baby Blessing

We all went to the Harris's church to see baby Nixon get blessed by his Daddy Jason. He gave him a beautiful blessing and it was a great meeting.
It turned out to be a beautiful day and we had delicious food, as always!!
All of our family and all of Jason's family ate lunch in Mom and Dad's backyard.
Here are the proud parents playing with the little cutie!

I could just eat him up...he is so adorable!! I am so glad we have another boy in our family!

We moved the party inside when it started getting chilly and here is what happened!! Sitting around together with cameras in our hands is a very dangerous combination!!!

House Warming

Monica bought a new townhouse in Smithfield and she finally decided to have a "house warming" party. It is a great house and she decorated it really cute. Right out her back door is a big grassy area and a pavilion and playground.

She bought pizza and we ate outside and the kids had a great time rolling down the hills and just being wild!!

My mom used to always line us up and take pictures of us when we were growing up. We have done it a few times with our kids but now that we have so many it was time for an update. You can't even really see the babies on the end but you get the idea!! 10 grand kids, that is FUN!!

We took TONS and TONS of pictures!!! I was having a hard time choosing which ones to put on here because there were SO MANY!!! It was a great spot for photos and the kids (most of them) were very cooperative.
This is one of my favorites of the night...

My dad was "posing" he was just sitting in the grass with his chin on his hand waiting for someone to take his picture. It was funny, we made mom sit by him and actually got a few decent ones...she is very difficult when it comes to taking pictures!!!

My cute family shot turned out pretty good too. Max was really busy playing and was not very patient!

Alexa on the other hand could pose for hours...we took tons of these shots with the tall grass and the sunflowers...she is beautiful!!

We had a great time at Monica's house and are really happy for her and her new home!!

Playhouse Camp-out

We headed up to Logan for the weekend and I wanted to sleep in the playhouse with Rich but he wouldn't...party pooper!!! Max and Owen asked Grandpa if they could go camping with him so they decided to sleep out there.

We all knew it wouldn't last all night but I thought it would last a little longer than 30 minutes.

I guess Owen and Max kept fighting over who got to hold the flashlight and then they wouldn't let Grandpa turn it off so needless to say it was kind of a bust!!!
But Grandpa is always a good sport and he didn't mind that the camp-out was so short!!! Good thing I went out and took pictures when I did!!!

Map Project

It has been a while but if I remember correctly 4th grade is FULL of PROJECTS! I am not one of those mom's that enjoys doing projects for school. I remember helping/doing Alexa's projects and I am sort of dreading the up-coming year.
I told Alex that he needed to decide what he wanted to do and then I would get him all the stuff but HE had to actually DO the project. It is lucky for me that Alex is great at projects and loves doing them!
They had to make a map of Utah with all the mountain ranges and lakes and rivers and deserts. He told me what he had in mind and we headed to Dollar Tree to get our supplies. He is a creative kid and had no problem pulling this baby together with minimal help from me. I went to his class to see all the finished projects, I guess I don't have to be too worried about school projects with Alex!!

Pinewood Derby

Tonight was our ward's Pinewood Derby. This is my first experience with the derby and I was quite impressed. The track and the computer timing were pretty high tech and I wasn't expecting that. I am not sure what I was expecting actually.
Here is the track that they set up at the church. Alex was really excited to race his bright orange car!
The computer put the boys in heats and they each had three times to race. Alex was the fastest car in this heat and he got second in the other one.
That is his car in first place...the orange streak in the picture. They were going SO FAST that it was hard to get a good shot!
After all the heats were over the computer took the average scores and above are the top 3 winners!!! Alex got 3rd place overall...he was so happy!
What a great time. I think this is a great tradition the scouts have. Alex is going to put his car in a safe place so he can race it again next time!!!

First Day on the NEW JOB!!!

I just wanted to give a quick update...Rich started his NEW JOB today!!! He is working for Intermountain Contractor's Supply in Orem. He is doing sales and gets base pay + commission and full benefits!!
I took him to lunch to celebrate and he picked Chili's. We met in Orem and then we both went back to work! He is pretty excited and I know he will be really good at this, he was made for it! I will have to take a picture of him in his new work shirts as soon as he gets them!!!
