Today is Alex's last swim meet!! I am so glad that he was on the swim team this year and hope it is something he will want to do again next summer!!! The meet was in Lehi again at 3pm. Rich, Harrison and Stephanie came to watch along with me, Alexa, Kenzie and Max. His first race was the 50 yard freestyle boys 9-10. There were 4 or 5 heats because there were so many boys in this event. In the program it listed 36 boys (I am not sure if they all showed up but that is a ton of swimmers for this event). His fastest time in this event this year is 50.17. He had the 4th fastest time so I told him before the race that I thought he could win or at least get 2nd because he has improved SO MUCH since the first of the summer! He took second in his heat but I didn't keep very close track of the times in the other heats so I wasn't sure what he placed. They posted the times and he was 2nd overall out of 30 some boys!!! I was SO PROUD!!! Here is Alex right after his swim, still dripping wet!!! We had a few hours to kill before his relay. Mandi Keller came to pick up Alexa and Kenzie to sleep at her house. Rich and Harrison had to get back to work and Steph took off too. Me Alex and Max went shopping for a little while. We went to Target and Ross!! Then we decided to head back to the pool to see how things were going!
Waiting for Alex's race to start!
Alex was the 4th leg of the relay team. When he jumped in the guy in the lane next to him was really far ahead. Alex swam so fast that he ended up catching him and beating him, helping his team take 1st place in the relay!!! I was so proud! I am glad I got it on video!!!
Here's Alex with Max after the relay!!
I was so proud of Alex that I decided to let him choose where he wanted to go for dinner! I was hoping for In-N-Out but he picked Chuckarama.
I called Rich and he met us there! It was fun to hear Alex tell Rich about the relay and to see how proud he was! What a great night!

Jump On It and Sub Zero...Great FHE
We decided to check out "Jump On It" in Lindon for family night. Alex has been begging me for months to take him!
The Velcro wall was a hit!! It was pretty hard to jump up high enough for them to actually "stick" themselves on the wall so Rich ended up throwing the boys up and getting them to stick. Max was stuck on there pretty good and he couldn't get himself down...maybe that would be a good "time-out" trick!!!
Max had fun on the slide while the big kids were jumping!!
Me and Rich just watched and laughed, we had wrist bands so we could have jumped and I kept telling Rich to ( I had a skirt on) but he just sat by me, we are party poopers!!!
I thought this sign that was everywhere was pretty funny!!!
I didn't get the best photos because it was hard to get them all up in the air at the same time but these are pretty good. They had fun and now hopefully that will satisfy Alex for a while!!
After all the jumping the kids needed a treat so we went to Sub Zero at the Provo Mall.
It is just as much fun watching your ice cream get made as it is eating it...ok ALMOST as much fun!! Max got gummy bears in his and was really mad because they were "hard" and he couldn't really even eat them. They froze!!! We had a great time tonight spending time together as a family!!

Speedy Spaniard
One of these years I am going to hire someone to take pictures of this race for me. It is impossible to get photos because you park at the starting line and then have to get shuttled back when the race is over.
This is the 6th time Rich and I have done this race together and it was a beautiful morning, I was afraid it was going to get really hot toward the end of my run but it was perfect!! I had to go to the bathroom before the race started and while I was in the "honey bucket" doing my business I heard the starting horn blow. I was glad that Rich let me wear his garmin so I would have an accurate time, I just started the time when I was done with the bathroom. It is amazing how much better I can run without music and with a watch to see my pace. I had a really good run.
Rich finished the race 10th overall in 37 min, he was 1st place in his age group. He hopped on the shuttle right after he finished running so he could get the kids and make it back to the park for the awards, they made it just in time! We didn't win any of the raffle prizes but I am sure one of these years we will win the private pool party!!!
I finished in 59 minutes!! Yay for me, I was hoping to be under an hour and I made it. If I wasn't wearing the garmin I wouldn't have pushed myself as hard so I am glad Rich sacrificed and let me wear it, I guess I need my own so we can both have one to wear!!
I was curious to see what my past times for this race have been so I looked it up on runnercard and in 2009 my time was 1 hr 8 min, 2008 was 1 hr 5 min, 2007 was 1 hr 12 min. They didn't have 2006 or 2005 but I think in 2005 I did it in just about an hour. I am glad I was able to cut so much time off, I guess practice pays off!!!
After the awards we headed over to Janean's new store for breakfast with Rich's family and then watched the parade. I am not a huge lover of parades in general and the fiesta days parade is SO LONG and it is always SO HOT!!! We did have some shade this year which made it a little more bearable!

My FIRST Rodeo
Jeff and Steph decided to take all their employees and spouses to the Fiesta Days Rodeo tonight. I have never ever been to a rodeo and I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into! It was a super hot day today so I was really thinking it was going to be miserable but it wasn't too bad once we finally got there.
We were told to meet at their house at 7:15pm, we were the first ones there. We waited for about a half hour for everyone to show up and then Pieper and Madison decided they wanted to come. We hadn't had dinner yet so we bought some food and went and found our seats which were thankfully not in the sun!
It was fun watching the different events but it seemed to me like there was alot of "downtime" in between the events and they sure did give all the sponsors their moneys worth...they kept repeating over and over again who the sponsors were, it got a little old after a while!
I had to post this picture of Madison because it was so funny!! Her and Pieper got restless after about a half hour so Jeff took them to get some snacks and it worked for about a minute and then something went wrong and they were both crying and mad. Steph ended up driving them home and coming back!!
We had a good night and I think I will go back again, it was pretty fun!

Carnival
Well here it is...the annual carnival post!! There isn't much to say except that it was TOO HOT and there was sweat dripping down my back for the first hour we were there! Then finally it cooled off a tiny bit to a bearable temperature!!
Max and Pieper had a blast on all the rides. We get asked alot if they are twins!!!
I took Max and Pieper on the Tilt a Whirl (cause they weren't tall enough to go alone) and Max didn't love it. While the ride was going he said to me: "I don't understand this ride." He said it a few times and I asked him what he meant and he said: "It makes me feel like I wanna puke." I guess he didn't get why that would be considered "fun." I was laughing so hard and I felt the same way!!! Never again!!
Alex disappeared when we got there to go on the big rides so I only saw him for a minute...he had a great time and loved the rides!
On the merry-go-round, the last ride of the night!!!
This is the only time I saw Alexa...we were leaving and heading to get dinner! I got a Navajo Taco and Rich went to Barry's. We met at Hawaiian Shaved Ice cause the kids wanted one! The Duvall's had the same idea! We sat and ate our dinner and snow cones. Janean and her family came while we were there so we talked for a minute with them before calling it a night at 11pm!!!
Can't wait til next year...

MARVIN...the Kitty
We got a new little kitty, Alexa has been wanting one and her friends aunt had some to get rid of so we decided to give it a try! This is a long sad story and I am not going to type it all up so I will just give you the basics. Alexa named the kitty Marvin. He was to be an outside cat and live in the garage.
Alexa got the cat on Sunday night, Rich had a fit and was really upset (I mean really upset, I have never seen him like that), Alexa called her friend to come take the cat back. Rich feels bad and goes to get the cat back on Monday.
It is a cute little runt that limps a little and has goopy eyes (the previous owner ran over his back leg with her car). The neighborhood kids LOVE the kitty. Alexa and Alex stay with their dad for 2 days so I am the one taking care of the kitty. It reminds me of when I was younger and always bringing home stray animals and having tons of kitties (until dad made us drop them off at some random farm).
Saturday Alex and I are at Wal Mart and Alexa is at work, I get a call from Rich telling me the kitty is dead. It was a terrible thing that happened and I felt sick to my stomach. Now sweet Marvin is in heaven and Alex is really excited to be able to see him again and keeps asking me if he will be able to talk to him and what he will look like etc. Alex took it really hard, so did I. I will miss little Marvin. Maybe we will get another kitty, maybe we won't. I will keep you posted!

Jungle Jim's
Today is Tayana's 4th birthday. She invited us to her party at Jungle Jim's. Alex and Max had a great time. Alexa and I spent most the time holding Drayke and talking. It was a fun place for a party and everyone had a great time!!
We were there for a couple hours and had pizza and cake. Max and I left for home and Alexa and Alex went with their dad to stay at his house for a few days!
