Tonight was our ward's Pinewood Derby. This is my first experience with the derby and I was quite impressed. The track and the computer timing were pretty high tech and I wasn't expecting that. I am not sure what I was expecting actually.
Here is the track that they set up at the church. Alex was really excited to race his bright orange car!
The computer put the boys in heats and they each had three times to race. Alex was the fastest car in this heat and he got second in the other one.
That is his car in first place...the orange streak in the picture. They were going SO FAST that it was hard to get a good shot!
After all the heats were over the computer took the average scores and above are the top 3 winners!!! Alex got 3rd place overall...he was so happy!
What a great time. I think this is a great tradition the scouts have. Alex is going to put his car in a safe place so he can race it again next time!!!
