Sweet Baby Korver

I finally got to meet my newest nephew, Korver David Clark. He was born on April 9th, which is his big brother Jake's birthday. I think it is so awesome that the 2 boys in the family have the same birthday...just 10 years apart. Jake has been waiting and waiting for a little brother for a long time and I know they will be best friends.

He is such a cute little guy, we didn't get to spend much time with him because Melanie has been feeling really crappy for the last couple days and has been home. She is at the ER right now and that is why we have cute little Korver.
I love it when we are able to add BOYS to the family. There are 9 grand kids, with one on the way in July, the count is 5 boys to 4 girls so maybe Amy's baby will be a girl and tie things up (that would be wierd if we had more boys than girls in this family)!!!

Yum Yum JAM

We love our raspberry jam so much that I thought it would be a good idea to make strawberry too, just to mix it up a little. I was at Macey's and noticed the strawberries were on sale and so I thought it would be fun to make it with some of my sisters!!!
It is pretty easy to make jam, the part that takes the longest is cutting the stems off and washing them (which I did 12 pounds all by myself, thanks for the help Amy).

We had 4 batches going at the same time and then 2 more after dinner. Then Melissa started to do hers after we were done.
What a great Sunday activity to do with your Mom and sisters...next up, APPLE, it is SO DELICIOUS on toast!!!

Second Chance 5K

It is time again for our annual 5K event...The Second Chance 5K. It was a beautiful day for a run.
Most of us have done this race for 5 years, some come and go and for others it was a first. Me, Rich, Alexa, Alex, Harrison, Monica, Amy, Jason, Amberly, Melissa, Brandon, Mandi, and 3 of Mandi's friends all participated.
Rich was FIRST PLACE OVERALL. He finished in 18 minutes (his fasted 5k ever) and they didn't even have the finish line set up yet. My Dad was in charge of pictures and he didn't get there in time either. WAY TO GO RICH!!!
They didn't post official results so I don't have any times but I think this is the right order.
Jason came in next
then Monica
then Melissa and Harrison
Alex
me (my time was 32 minutes)
here comes Amy and Alexa
they only started running when they saw the finish line but Amy is pretty pregnant so that is ok
Mandi always walks/jogs with Amberly and they have had some different experiences, some good and some really bad
Amb, Brandon and Mandi (Rich told Amb that he would come find her when he was finished and get her across the finish line). They finished in under an hour which is a record time for them and we were all cheering her on, even the announcer in his megaphone was chanting her name, it was awesome!!
This was Harrison's first 5K ever and he ran fast. He drank alot of water along the way and right after the race and he threw it all up a few minutes after finishing. He loved it though and wants to keep running.
Here is the post race photo...we are all awesome!!!
None of these pictures would be possible if it weren't for our supportive Dad. He is a great sport and always holds everyone's keys and takes pictures for us.

These are just some random shots. Rich got a $20 gift card to Chili's, a gift certificate for RoadID and free entry into a triathalon for being THE WINNER.
Can't wait for next year!!!

Owen's Birthday Party

This year for Owen's birthday Amy and Jas went ALL OUT!!! Owen loves the movie "Sandlot" so that was the theme for the party. We had some great food...

the COTTON CANDY!!! They rented a machine and Melissa was in charge (one of her dreams come true). It was the highlight of the night.

All the kids had a great time...it was pretty chilly but they didn't mind. We ate outside and the kids played catch and ran around the yard.

Jason made this baseball pinata. It weighed like 50 lbs and we all thought Dad might tip over off the ladder. The kids went from littlest to biggest hitting the pinata. I think Harrison made the first hole then Kenzie and Alexa finished it off. There was SO MUCH candy in there the kids were in heaven.

I think this is one of the best birthday parties I have been to. We all had a great time and we love Owen and are so glad he is in our family!!

Spring Break

I had meetings for work in Salt Lake on Wednesday, the first day of spring break. Alexa watched the boys while Rich was working. Then Rich met me in Salt Lake to have dinner at Texas Roadhouse with my co-workers. It was the first time he has met any of them and it was a good time. After dinner we drove back to Spanish Fork to pick up the kids and Harrison (Steph and Jeff are out of town) and headed back to Salt Lake to stay at a Hotel since I had another meeting in the morning. Rich took the kids to the movie while I was at my meeting and then they picked me up and we headed to Logan.

It is Owen's birthday today and he wanted to go to McDonald's (or "chicken donalds" as Max says) for dinner. We met the Harris's there and had a great time.
After that we headed back up to Mom and Dad's house.

Here is a sweet picture of Owen that Amy took. He turned 2 today and he is such a handsome little guy.
I am so glad that Max has a cousin close to his age and I know they will be great friends!!! Happy Birthday Owen!!!

Easter Sunday

We had a little photo shoot after church. I thought the basement would be a great place since the walls totally matched our outfits. We were the "brightest" family at church and got many comments on that. I LOVE bright spring-y colors, they are SO FUN!!

We made the kids stay downstairs while we hid some treats and their Easter buckets. We don't have that many places for hiding and the kids have TONS of treats already so it wasn't much of a hunt.

Alexa found Alex's bucket first and thought hers would be close by.
She found hers in the pantry after staring right at it and not seeing it for a minute!
Max found his behind the curtain.

Alexa got 2 shirts and some kit-kat's, Alex got a Lego thing and Max got a Transformer and some little motorcycles and a coloring book and crayons. I got Rich a football and a Sudoku book (he is really good at it).
We went to the Cope's house to have Easter dinner with Rich's family. It was really yummy and we had a great day.
